Jeep JL 2.0LT with MagnaFlow exhaust & AFE Cold Air Intake
Переглядів 50 тис.5 років тому
The Decibels in TEST 2 Mod JL 2.0T under the hood is MEDIAN of 3 tests and was a SAVED result from previous testing. I was unable to get accurate live results during filming due to noise pollution from construction in my immediate area and the time constraints I was dealing with. Thank you! PRODUCT LINKS HERE I had to preform some serious modifications to fit the MagnaFlow Axle-Back essentially...
Airplane Hill Climb Tillamook
Переглядів 3 тис.5 років тому
We explore Browns Camp in Tillamook, OR with the 2.0LT Jeep JL and climb the infamous Airplane Hill
Does it sound like a Honda?
Sounds like an army jeep
Did it improve performance any...fuel mileage, increased acceleration, etc. ?
I did the S&B Intake with the High Tuck AFE Exhaust and it sounds better than stock, kind of like this.
great vid! ate that "hill" like it was nothing...
If you didn’t have all the trac control, you wouldn’t make it! Old school is the real way, 90 percent driver 10 percent rig.
Weak! Comiefornias at their best!
🤣🤣🤣
Good video! The voice over podcast style was really good.
Laughed my ass off watching the smoke rolling out the window of the jk a 2:30. Great video.
Hittin' those trails pretty soon. Planning stage right now. We're gonna stay for a couple days & just have a blast. Can't wait. Love the videos.
Ok I stopped at 1:51. U held ur phone pretty much next to the engine in stock form and then held it away after the mods. Cmon man.
How much suspension lift?
Glad to see the stock JL 2.0T sound as bad and unhealthy as mine in my Cherokee Trailhawk 2.0T... Damn these motor at idle sound terrible. (While driving its decent)
Thank you for doing this I wanted to know what my Jeep would sound like with exhaust not too many videos with the 2.0turbo. Just did the S&B intake and it’s awesome very audible but it just makes me want to hear the exhaust now lol thanks again subscribing now
Was it hard to instal the intake??
HIGHLY recommend the BFGoodrich KM3 Mud Terrains for this environment. I went from KO2s to KM3s and they performed incredibly in this area.
Bro whats the app you were using
You would probably have had more fun going to a strip club and making it rain with the money you spent on the cold air intake and exhaust. The cold air intake will not flow as well as the factory airbox. And the obnoxious drone of the exhaust will get on your nerves before the end of the week.
Why not go with the 3.6l engine?
Good question! After driving a 3.6 and owning the 2.0T the 3.6 is smoother through acceleration, but the 2.0T seems to have more snap and just be a little more fun IMO
why can’t they increase the displacement 2l and add two more pistons :(
Thank you for giving me hope that my car dont have to sound like a remote control car.
Agreed, I just installed a CAI and i do believe it now sounds like a solid moped 😂👍🏼
What kind of links do you have??
You need to install blow off valve. To hear the Swoosh!
What size wheel and tires are/were you running to do Airplane and waterfall?

You're good at making these videos. I am a subscriber now, and hope to see you make more, I really enjoyed this!
What front bumper are you using? Looks good
Smittybilt Stryker!
a ricer jeep
When are y'all going to upload the most recent footage from Tahuya I know y'all said ya got a bunch of us all I'm curious to see the video
I have a 2020 Jeep JLU 2.0T Rubicon that I added this cold air intake to an the engine light has come on with a (Boost Side EVAP purge System Performance) error. I have tried all suggestions I've seen online to correct it but nothing has worked so far. What Kind of tune should I get for this turbo in order for it to correct the error?
Hey Russell, I have the same issue as well. Installed this last week and got the same code for this CAI. Wanting to see if you got it resolved and how? Thanks.
That blue is awesome.
Aren't you supposed to grind off the fender brackets?
Make more videos man!
Thanks dude, Working on a few now!
@@TRACXmedia still waiting bro! You got an instagram btw?????
@@TRACXmedia still waiting 2 years later lol hope all well brotha 🤘🏼
Now that times passed by can you guys do a Rev video on this Cai the driving video is great but you can't really tell the significance with those cooper's. I hear good things about how the improve on sound and note. But there are not many videos online at all. The forums claim that you hear the whoose from the turbo.
Great video! I'm actually more curious about what you did on the back. I currently have the MC GC 3.5" on my JL with the same American Adventure Lab Hi-Line kit. I also have 40s on the way. For rear tire clearance, did you need to body trim the front edge of the rear wheel well? Did you remove the plastic welded black lip on the back fenders like the front? Hard to tell from the video...
Man! Best JL fender video out there. Pretty funny! I Need to know the name of that song so I can play it when wheeling. That Bob Ross video was hilarious too! My son and I laughed our ass off. (CURB STOMP!) I am originally from Puyallup WA. Now reside in Tempe AZ. Your videos bring back some good memories. Hopefully you guys have some more videos on the way.
How many miles do you have and how reliable is the engine debating between this or the 6 cylinder
Have you guys had any issues with the 2.0t engine or turbo with all the mods like bigger tires, bumpers, etc? Is the turbo constantly spooled trying to maintain power?
Zero issues so far with the 2.0! My only concern is in regards to the turbos longevity. I'm worried that the turbos bearings might go out around 50k miles because that has been my experience with turboed vehicles so far. That said, I am loving the engine more and more, but great question about the spooling. I would say after owning and wrenching on many WRXs (2.0 T) the JLs turbo isn't spooling any more than one of those. The JLs turbo only seems to noticeably spool under load, excelerations or speeds over 70 on the highway for me, but when just cruising the 2.0 gets it done easily.
TRACX awesome that sounds good. I’ve owned a 3.6 JK and JL and I’m thinking about going 2.0T JL but wasn’t sure how it handles with all the added weight. Have you done any gears, or tuning for your setup?
What front bumper do you have, looks great?
Thank you, it's the SmittyBilt Stryker.
When you used fender cut on highway, high speed! It will be shaking or not? Thank you
It will, which is why I used nutserts to secure the fender as well as bracing at the bottom.
I will go further with my stock jk lol
Is that base housing in Saratoga Springs?
No, we are by Fort Lewis is Washington state!
What bumper is that? It looks great!
Just saw the previous comment below. Thanks for the video!
Is that a smittybilt front bumper? Nice video btw, gonna go with the momentum cai.
Yes it is, Momentum is a great choice!
Sounds good man! How do you like them shocks are they the metal cloak shocks?
Yeah they are the 6paks and I love em! Great on road performance (stock quality ride), with the ability to get to as flexy as a if I had a 6" lift with coilovers.
Nice man thanks for the reply I will order them time now!!!
I'm looking at the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Willy's Edition 4-Cyl Turbo, but I really want a noticable exhaust Note. Are you suggesting this one over any...or would you do anything different? Also, with the CAI...same question. Thanks in advance!
I went with the AFE power for the 7 stage filter to ensure my engine is protected to the levels it needs to be with dust and everything. I wouldn't necessarily change anything but I know there are a few more options available now that might be cheaper such as S&B filters. To me the aftermarket intakes are so similar it really comes down to the look you prefer. Also, I love the Willy's edition Great Choice!
What lift kit do you have? How many inches? Any axle modifications?
3.5" game changer from metal cloak. No Axel mods at the time of this video 👍
Ive heard you need to get a custom tune if you mess with airflow on the turbo models. Is this true?
Hey Jake, I spoke with AFE Power extensively about this because most of the time it is true that with increased airflow there would need to be a tune to compensate and have it run efficiently. However, the JL 2.0 regulates the amount of air it takes in based on the need electronically via the way of the airflow sensor and ecu algorithms. AFE allows for the more available air when the vehicle needs it so it will not be restricted, but the vehicle will not take on more than it can needs. So no tune necessary!
If it controls how much air you take in and your ecu is stock, what is telling your engine to take in excess air from the cold air intake if you haven't tuned it or changed the ecu
@@Jake-ci1ld your throttle and or your altitude. the ECU has its fuel air ratio parameters that it like to stay within in the old days the throttle body would open to allow more airflow when the throttle is being pressed. This was completely mechanical and to keep your vehicle from running lean or rich you would have to make those mechanical adjustments. As vehicles started to become more intelligent they were able to calculate how much of the pedal is compressed and then electronically open the throttle body (many vehicles are still like this because the calculations are much easier) this would require the electric tune you're talking about to ensure the fuel air ratios are correct. The Jeep jl 2.0 being "hybrid assist" is able to make the fule air ratio calculations based on the current actual airflow and make any necessary adjustments all in real time. This means your JL 2.0 is essentially self tuning in regards to airflow so you always have the optimal air flow for your Jeep. The purpose of adding the air intake is to remove any potential bottlenecks, so that the engine may have all the air it needs when it needs it.
First off I greatly appreciate the in depth response. I just have one more question and I wont continue to bother you. I just got a superchips tuner and turned the 87 octane tune on is this compatible with my intake to meet the parameters your reffering to or should i turn 91 octane tune on?
Jake Jeeps how is the Superchips tune?
Can the air intake work with a supercharger?
Yes it can!
